Ever found the magic mouse is moving too slow? Even you already move the speed preference to the most right? Here is how you can boost this little beauty, just paste the following to terminal:

defaults write -globalDomain com.apple.mouse.scaling -float 14.0

then loggoff, login, it’s done! The float number “14.0″ at the end, indicates the speed you want, if 14 is still slow to you go 16 or 999999 ^_^

How to geotag your flickr photos with your iPhone 3G/3GS

In recent years, geo-tagged photos became more and more popular on Flickr (and other photo sharing websites). You can find a lot ways to geo-tag your photos online.

Let’s say, you don’t have a fancy DSLR w/ built-in GPS. You can’t afford a $1k WFT-E2/E2A plus a $100+ GPS device (if you’er a Canon guy bloody ). And, you accidentally owned a iPhone 3G or 3GS. Here is a good news for you: you can geo-tag your photos automatically for free (well… almost). You can find a bunch of geo-tagging apps from the app store. The one I’m using is call “GeoLogTag“. The method here is similar as those geo-taging devices (continue reading…)

A geeky way to organize your moving

Geeky way to move

So, the story started with my recent moving. Like most of people, I’m not really enjoy the whole moving thing… but this time, I thought I could add a little bit of fun to it. The problem I found was once everything is packed, it would be impossible to find them again. My mom’s method is to take a piece of paper and a pen, record everything packed inside, and assign a number to each box. So later on, by looking the “packing list” you “should” find what you are looking for.

I don’t like write down things, and I don’t like to carry a notepad, a pen all the time (I know I will drop them somewhere, and I will never find them again… yes! I am a really organized guy 8) ). So my way is using the QR Code. I’m not gonna spend a lot of time here to explain what QR Code is. Basically, it is a two-dimensional bar code. Something looks like this:

qr code sample

it has been used for manufacturing tracking, product promotions, labeling… etc. It was so popular in Asian, (continue reading…)

Google wants every piece of you!

Google (Yes, that Google again…) just intruduced a “new” service: Google Voice. It is part of “GrandCentral”. If you nerver heard about GrandCentral (like me): it is a free service which allows you to have one number to access all you calls and SMS (I guess for US only). In 2007, Google bought GrandCentral. Now, new features includes, email voice notification, voicemail transcripts… The whole Google Voice is still under beta, and only availabe for GrandCentral users. But, did they just cut off free SMS on GoogleTalk this week? Really don’t know where they are going… All I know is this monster wants every part of your life.
